When you normally try to play Yu-Gi-Oh! Power of Chaos on a windows Vista system, all your going to see is this

To solve this, one easy solution:

Right click your game’s executable (the file you use to start the game) and select properties. Now choose compatibility then select “Disable desktop composition” then hit OK.

Everything should be fine now!

Enjoy

Did you know that you can play Yu-Gi-Oh! Power of Chaos Joey the passion Online? If anyone is interested I’ll write a tutorial on how to play yu-gi-oh! online

Finally I think that its time for a new PC Yu Gi Oh game, the old power of chaos series is outdated, very bad graphics.

If a new game is to be released would you prefer it to be just card collecting game? Or would you prefer a story this time? lets hear what you think.

  6. wow, nice info. but really joey the passion could be paly online? how? btw, if konami release a new version, i prefer both of them. story and collection card mode. so we can collect the card in two ways, by story battle, and by skirmish mode. ^^

  8. Hi Ryou

Yes there is a trick to get this Joey the passion to play online, you can read how to do it here use this method to play with your friends or you can use the same method and join one of the Communities of Yu Gi oh players, I used to play with them until they created a lot of new not standard rules and banned a bunch of interesting cards.

I totally approve with you about your view of the new Yu Gi Oh Pc game, but I would add anime graphics ( Konami can do it !), Japanese and english voices, not very long coversations, a lot of cinematics, and 1000’s of cards. thats how I wish it would be.

  14. Exactly the same thing. After I install the game and try to launch it, all I hear is the intro music but I don’t see anything, just a blank screen in a window.

  16. It’s somthing with the graphics then…

Are you using any kind of 3rd party windows themes application? if yes disable it.
I assume the game starts in fullscreen mode, try to mimimize it then maximize it (hit “alt+tab” on the keyboard)
try right clicking the game’s shotcut, select properties, then go to the compatibility tab, go there and mess with some settings, I would recommend trying a windows 2000 compatibility mode and disabling Visual themes

As a last option, from the start menu choose run and write “dxdiag” Go to the display tab and start disabling DirectX Features one by one and check the game every time. Remeber to enable everything again after you r done.

Also you can check if there is any new driver version for your VGA.

I hope one of these methods will work, If not may be I can come up with more thing to try.

    Good luck

  18. Ok I will try those but it doesn’t launch in full screen mode it launches in window mode which I thought was the problem. But let me try your tips to see it it will work. Thank you.

  20. No problem.

It is supposed to start in full screen unless your version is modified (to open all cards maybe?)

    Good luck

  22. Well I tried everything except for the new driver which is busy being downloaded and no I don’t have a third party theme application. I don’t know if it is modified how can I tell?

  24. well, I’m running out of ideas here.
since it is running on windowed mode, try changing your desktop resolution and number of colors 32 to 16 (one at a time), also if you use (or enable) multiple monitors and/or TV disable them. just keep one single monitor.

try these and give me your feedback

    Good Luck

  26. Now I updated my VGA driver and tried running it in 32 and 16 colours and still nothing. Is there a way to force it to go in full screen mode? Like a program or something?

  27. PsMan on Thu, 28th May 2009 8:46 pm
  28. I’m pretty sure the default setting for it is full screen, but if it runs in windowed then your problem is one of 2:
1: you have changed the game’s registry to open all card (probably)
2: there is a problem preventing the game from going full screen

If one, Find your Power of chaos common folder (by default in your program files) “Yu-Gi-Oh! Power of Chaos Common” there find a file named system.dat
Rename system.dat to AngryBytesystem.dat (a small ad ;) ) now the game SHOULD open in full screen, I just tried that and in worked on my pc.

    Good luck

  30. I like the name AngryByte but… It didn’t work. I have 2 versions of the game, an install file and a zipped file containing the game folder and I tried all this on both of them. Sorry, maybe I just wasn’t meant to play it lol. Thanx anyway.

  36. Hey.

Sorry I thought you were spam (your message looks spammy).
Anyway. Thats the copy protection of the game, at least the game thinks that you are using a pirated CD, try to install the game on another PC (and keep the CD inside while playing), if you are looking for some kind of crack or nocd patch, sorry we do not discuss that here
