Connecting to IWnet… Am I banned? ALTERIWNET

June 26, 2010 by PsMan · 2 Comments

Many of you must have heard about the alteriwnet, for those who didn’t, it is an alternative network to play Call of Duty : Modern warfare II. which has come as a reaction to the lack of dedicated server support on this new COD.

What is good about this network is that cheater can be easily reported and banned from the game ( I hope they would do the same to gl noobs as well).

When you are banned from the network, the game will display a message “Connecting to IWNet…” and never connects.

If you haven’t cheated,  (( now have you? >:(  )) but you got this message then it could be one of the following:

- Someone has reported you because of a personal problem.

-Someone else using your computer DID cheat and got busted.

For the two above you will have to file a complaint to the alteriwnet forums and see what you can do.

Now for the things that can block you game from connecting even though you are not banned

-You have installed and running Hamachi

-You have installed and running Tunngle

-You have installed an inactive network card

-Your windows mobile phone is connected to your computer :)

simply go to the “network adapters confuguration” on your cmputer whatever the hell you kids call it today, (on XP: network connections, on Vista:Manage Network Connections, and on 7: confirgure network thingy) And disable every network card excep for the one that is providing you with Internet access. If the game still doesn’t work then your ass is banned or you simply do not have internet access.

To know more about how you can get AlterIWnet visit www.alteriw.net

Go any altenative reasons not to be able to connect? share them here!

cosplay-naruto.com a website with a unique gallery system on WordPress

Hi.

Today, I got online a new website dedicated to Naruto Cosplay images. The website uses wordpress with a prototype of a gallery system for wordpress that I’m developing. The script is around 1300 lines long, and brings many features that are unavailable until today for wordpress.

cosplay-naruto.com

You might ask “Why wordpress?” there are many image CMS and gallery scripts for this, I say that only wordpress comes with thousands of plugins and themes, a solid interface and a tight security, nothing can beat wordpress in my opinion. But still no reliable gallery plugin is available to use it for picture based websites.

This plugin (I’m still not sure how I will call it) was originally developed to be a wordpress MOD not a plugin, but when I started to learn more about wordpress plugins I decided that a plugin will suffice for the task without altering the original wordpress scripts

The websites theme is also highly customized, I started from the well known Heat Map Theme, which is a SE freindly AD-Sense   ready theme, I changed it to have a dynamic width, played around with the pictures and colors. and finally got a good looking overall.

I will be publishing both the plugin and the theme of wordpress.org once I finish working on a releasable version.

I invite you all to go there and visit,  and please report back if you discover any bugs.

Happy New year Everyone!!!

Recording any sound that is being played on your speakers windows 7

Hi everyone. Today we will learn how to record any music , radio, game sound, just anything that your computer can play and save it. This was easy back in days on windows XP. But now it has become a little tricky because the stereo mixing device is now disabled by default in windows 7 and Vista.

To enable it just right click the speaker icon near the clock, then click “recording device”. Then right click any blank space below your devices list and click “Show disabled devices”. Then enable the “Stereo mix” device and set it as the default. Now you can start recording.

This is a first, but  I tried to add a video description to this post. please check it out and tell me how you like it. should I have these video descriptions more often?

I keep on getting incoming traffic from this www.acai-health-diet.com. it is some website related to diets. the best thing is that when I go there, they have no links to my blog and are not using any traffic exchange program.

Also I also found that they are referring some people to my referral account on on webhostingpad.com

This is just weird

Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

First I want to give credits to the author of the tutorial Learn AJAX in 20 mins that I improved  to be less complicated and noob friendly :)

AJAX stands for (as if you would remember it) Asynchronous JavaScript and XML. and it is used to send and receive data from the server without having to refresh the entire page.

I assume you have a basic knowledge of HTML and PHP.

Windows Vista Explorer keyboard hotkeys

March 10, 2009 by PsMan · Leave a Comment

A few new keyboard tricks has been implemented in windows Vista, and some more were modified compared to their XP equivalents. for example:

open a folder containing pictures, videos, or just any files. hold Ctrl and roll the mouse wheel. This will change the thumbnails size.

hold Alt while going forward or backward from any folder. This will hide the file-names from appearing. this is perfect for folders containing Photos.

If you have vista Aero. try winkey-tab. this will start switch between active windows in 3D style.

You can always try other keyboard shortcuts from windows XP because most of them still work.

One more thing if you use the “Windows Task Manager” a lot, you can directly activate it by pressing Ctrl-Shift-Esc without having to jump through the logon window.
